Pastors Philip and Bernadette Smith are graduates and alumni of Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  They have pastored Eternal Word Church in Grandville, MI for over 20 years.  They have 8 beautiful children, 7 here on earth and one in heaven.  They have raised their children with conservative values and have been brought up in the church where they are now sharing their ministry gifts.  

The heart of Eternal Word Church is that everyone comes to know, intimately, the heartbeat of our Heavenly Father.  Pastor Philip and Bernadette enjoy teaching and demonstrating to others how to TRUST God and REST in the midst of every storm.

We believe the Bible is the inspired infallible and authoritative Word of God without error.

We believe there is one true God, eternally existent in three persons, revealed in the Bible as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His cleansing blood through death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His complete conquest over the powers of Satan, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His imminent return in like manner as He went away.

We believe the Church consists of all those who truly believe Jesus is the Son of God (that he died on the cross for their sins, He rose from the dead and ascended on high) and confess Him as their personal Savior and Lord.

We believe that re-creation by the Holy Spirit is essential for the salvation of the lost. That this salvation is wholly by grace though faith and cannot be earned by our good works.

We believe in the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling Christians are empowered for the work of the ministry and enabled to live godly lives.

We believe that physical healing was provided for us by the blood of Calvary on the same day Jesus paid for our sins.

We believe in all the gifts of the Holy Spirit as written in 1 Corinthians 12: 8-10.

We believe in the ordinance of Water Baptism (by immersion) in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the authority of Jesus’ name.

We believe in Holy Communion.

We believe in a Heaven to gain and a Hell to avoid. The saved advance to everlasting peace in the presence of the Father, the lost to everlasting separation from God throughout eternity (in the Lake of Fire called Hell).

We believe in the unity of all those who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ.
